First time I played was utterly enchanting. Everything was new, so I poured over everything in detail, considering my options carefully, and lost myself in this strange and hostile world. I really liked the moments when you're in port, and all you hear is the gentle motion of the water against the harbor. Like I said, utterly enchanting.

But then I died. Not that unexpected, mind you. I'd gotten myself into a bind financially, had to sell my boat for a cheaper model, and then foolishly engaged a pirate ship. When you die, it gives you some options about what to do next. I wasn't ready to make any of those decisions, so I just quit to the desktop, to load it up again at another time. But when I did come back to it, after hitting continue, my captain was still alive! It didn't wipe my save like it said it would.

Well, that's dumb. So I created a new game anyway, throwing away my potential bonus, but when it came time to play again, everything felt way too similar. Too routine. I couldn't get into it again. Might have to wait a few months or something before trying to play again. Need to forget how to play.
