Sadly, there appears to be no physical manual upgrade for Shadow Empire. Searching the Matrix Games store, I can't find ANY references to boxed upgrades beyond the HB Edition description on the bottom of the page. Even their old link is now broken: https://www.matrixgames.com/store/boxedupgrade.asp

Now it's not obvious that you can do this from the Steam store page, but the game does support PBEM, in it's own way.

I'm in two 4-player PBEMs. We have a discord channel for each game, and everybody simply posts the save game and messages the next player in line that their turn is up.

It works very well.

I believe Vic has said that there will be a hardback version "eventually" after many updates are finished.

How do I get on the mailing list for that?
