XCOM is a game of struggle. XCOM is not a power fantasy. XCOM is a game of struggling against odds and then hopefully triumph. And so the best place for XCOM 2 to begin was in a position of long odds.

Kind of surprised at the lack of polish here. Guess the delay makes sense. There are little things here and there that stand out and bug me in a way that I haven't experienced while playing a game in a long time. Just a few stupid examples. In the base, when you go to research or engineering, the officers will be standing right there, and in the top right corner of the screen (the intercom or whatever it's supposed to be), they'll sometimes talk to you. But if you're in the same part of the base with them as they're talking to you over the intercom, you see them just staring at you with blank faces, not moving their mouths, or anything. Feels dumb.
Another minor thing are the soldier animations played prior to embarking on missions on the loadout screen. Fantastic idea. A welcome change. However, when all four soldiers simultaneously play the same animation, it looks horrible.
