[PS4] [PC] Galak-Z: The Dimensional
Re: [PC] [PS4] Galak-Z: The Dimensional
The visual effects look great, but everything else looks mediocre, which is a shame since the '80s mecha theme would have otherwise completely sold me. This is also going to be one of those games that perpetuate the rogue-like confusion even further since 17-Bit have taken to calling it a "roguelite" and many a reviewer have classified it as such. And why is that? It's not so much because of its randomized levels, but because the game is divided into "seasons" made up of five "episodes" each. If you end up dying in one of the episodes, you have to start the season over from the beginning.
But all is not lost. There are continue coins (called Crash Coins) you can collect that allow you restart the current episode from where you died, rather than restarting the whole season.
And there you have it. We've finally reached the point where arcade games are now classified as roguelikes. Just as Alex Kierkegaard predicted 5 years ago: http://insomnia.ac/reviews/pc/spelunky/page_01.php
